HOW TO: SCALEXTRIC LOTUS 49 TO INDY LOTUS

PREREQUISITE PARTS:
You must get or fabricate 3 items. 2 sets of fuel injectors and 1 bundle of snakes exhaust. The fuel injectors can be done using your cast off injectors and heads from the lotus 49, and a sixties Eldon Lotus are a good fit to give a few Ideas. Now if you think outside the box make your own (a separate how to). All fairly simple. The exhausts are an Indiana Jones adventure; the Eldon lotus exhausts are too big. to get them you have to find some vintage Lotus 38's by Monogram or Scalextric. In any case not all of these lotuses have viable exhausts. I stumbled into a bunch on close out a few years ago and that allowed me to make 6 cars so far. five Lotus', and one Mickey Thompson. If anyone knows where some 1/32 Indy ford bundle of snakes exhaust can be found please lend me a hand on this!!!!!

STEP 1:
Unscrew the the body halves, this allows for greater access to the parts that have to be removed. Take a screwdriver and gently pry away all the components, in the picture below, away from the body. The only thing you must retain is the end of the transmission (highlighted). Also you may want to keep the heads and injectors (see prerequisites). A small hump remains after the removal of a rectangular box (see picture below) remove with a dremel tool.

STEP 2:
Snip and file the exhaust brackets from the tip of the transmission. When replacing reattach to the to top of body half (it has a larger surface area).

STEP 3:
Dry fit injectors and exhaust components. This all the bodywork that needs to be done.

STEP 4:
Optional. Rig a filler cap right in front of the windscreen
