SAAB 92

Seems like I'll never get to the real racers... This will be #2 in the boring-family-car series!
Another less known forrunner.





The 92 came in 1950, a very small streamliner powered by a transverse ( sidewinder?) 3 cyl. 2-stroke engine.
Much of the fish-like charm was lost on the way when it was developped into the wellknown rally winner SAAB 96 in the 60's.






The rough form is carved out. From now on it is more scraping and sanding than carving.







Thin painting brushed on to get a better view of what is done and what is next. Time to lay the plan drawing aside and start comparing to photos.
There is something wrong with the roofline and the rear end, have to be slimmed + adjustments a little here and there.

This is a phase of the modelling I really enjoy, a nice start and most everything seems possible...
Onwards it will get more complicated, but so far the work has gone surprisingly smoothly and quickly compared to my previous car.
Must have learned something from the Volvo build after all.
