Hi there all..
Here are a few photos of my latest scratchbuild/conversion of a 1963 Ford Galaxie which I built for the Wolves Saloon car meeting in October this year (2015)
I started off with a Monogram/Revell Nascar slot car, but I only used the body, glass and part of the interior. The original chassis now powers my scratchbuilt Resin 50s Chevy Tow Truck.
Once I had cleaned off all the original decals, I cut open the bonnet area, scratchbuilt the engine compartment,
then prepped and painted the body in my old racing colours when I used to race full size Minis and specials in Grasstrack and Autocross racing. Great times..
The chassis is a modified Slot-It with Slot-It gears, axles, guide, rear tyres and a Flat 6 motor. The ally wheels, are CB design from the states.
I fitted a detailed engine, which I scratchbuilt from resin and detailed the engine compartment. The decals are also my own.
On the day the car went great, but unfortunately I could not keep up with the fast lads or members of the wolves club.
I think that was mainly due to my driving though, rather than the performance of the car.
However, the car did come 1st in Concours, which I was pleased about.
Here are the photos.. I hope you like them ... Martin
