Williams FW36

Over the last couple of months I have been working on a couple of projects. The FW05 was completed a few weeks ago and then, right on cue Scalextric released the generic F1 car.

Like many I am sure, I felt it would make a great version of the 2014 Williams FW36. It required a bit more work than I had anticipated but the end result is close enough. The work included:

Masking and painting (primer and white top coat and red "brake" light)
Painting the wheels
Cutting out cockpit and installing a full length driver and steering wheel
Removing digital connector and rewiring
Drilling air box hole
Fitting air box camera
Fitting mirrors
Making and fitting vertical barge boards
Applied decals (Pattos)

Enough words, here are some pictures.....

The decals required some serious modifications to fit in the right places and I know that they are not totally accurate (particularly at the rear of the car). However, they do give the right impression and make the car instantly recognisable....I hope unsure.gif

(I chose Massa as the driver because my birthday is the 19th!!!)

Thanks,
Philip
