Kit bashing some pre-war cars

Hi all,

I've picked up some kits for silly prices with the intention of some fun slot cars. Performance is not top of the list. Starting off there is this rather lovely Rolls Royce Towne Car, which looks like it won't take a great deal to turn into 'AU 1' - just add some solid wheel centres, plus Goldfinger and Oddjob in their seats, ready to heave some gold down from Le Touquet to Switzerland.

Another 007 build will be the first car he ever drove on film. This one is much more straightforward - either a PCS or a Chase Cars wobbler if I'm feeling brave.

Inherited from my late father are two Matchbox kits - Jaguar SS100 and MGTC - plus the Airfix Bentley Blower and Alfa 8C. I'm guessing that many of these have been converted over the years but would appreciate seeing how.

And finally, here's a little MG R-Type that comes as a 1/32 metal kit but I've got one of the resin pre-production bodies. With a bit of Dremelling an FF motor should just squeeze in standing on its side. How to secure it, attach axles and so on remains a mystery.

The new Shadowfax chassis might well be the thing for the shorter cars, although I think the Bentley, Rolls and Alfa might be a bit too long. Failing that the longer PP should do the trick. However I'd be keen to hear from some of the master builders on here how they would approach these to make reasonable - if not exactly lightning fast - runners. Both in terms of mating the pretty bits to the chassis and in getting the interiors looking presentable around the bits that make them go.

Many thanks!
