I do like Jaguars so here are my three D-Types. I dont know what the blue one is. It was hacked about underneath so the old school chassis could be fitted. It doesnt really handle well so I wanted to fit more conventional 1/32 scale bits underneath. This resulted in the reworked Scalextric Aston Martin chassis which is the same wheelbase. Cut it about and fiddle with the mounts and I can use the existing ones from the original (accommodating the small issue of them not being central or the same length on either side
).
Need some motor etc but I can see it sitting nicely on wheels that came from a Scalextric Vanwall or BRM. Could do with a new driver but Im not sure its worth the work.
For comparison is my Scalextric D-Type unmodified and an AutoArt D-Type which has had the chassis replaced with a brass one. The latter was a very nice looking model but would not even run as the lighting kit fouled the front wheel. Also the driver looked like a alien from outer space and was duly replaced.
Just look at the size differences in the last photo!
