'56 T-Bird re-do

I have an extra Carrera '56 T-bird that I have been wanting to work on so this past weekend I managed to get started on it.

Out of the box, it is a nice car:







It is also very handsome on the track as well:







Once the body and chassis are separated, the front motor and drive shaft, full interior and 'reversing switch' wiring can be seen:





Using the Carrera chassis as a guide, I made a new brass chassis for the car using the original motor and drive shaft:







Hopefully tonight I will have time to trim the chassis and add new mounting posts to the body.
