A couple of years ago I bought a Fly Porsche 917 Spyder, because I really liked the look of the car and, on top of it all, Im totally nuts about open sports prototype race cars. It being a Fly, it was true to form what I would call a dog!
Once I even contemplated dropping an HRS2 chassis from Slot.it under it, but thought the better of it. Last week, while rummaging through the spares box, I found the original Fly chassis and a spare Sideways DP Riley chassis and the old grey matter went beserk. The old Spyder with an anglewinder what a thought! So, out came the Dremel, I have a useful copy of one, and I cut enough off both chassis to build a new one to fit under the Porsche. A Slot.it anglewinder pod, Scaleauto motor, a set of Fly Racing wheels and a custom built cockpit and rollbar completed the job.
It hasnt seen the track yet, but Im very excited to see it run.
