Ive completed another low budget kitbash. This time it was one of my favorite saloon cars from the 70s, the BMW 3,5 CSL. I rate it as a favorite along side the Zakspeed Escort and the Kamei VW Golf.
In my spares box was a Slot.it Ferrari F40 chassis that I once bought in the hope to rebuild a Fly F40, but it could never fit. This old BMW always cried out to be raced, but a front motored slotcar is just a flop! A quick fit proved that the wheelbase of the chassis is a perfect fit for the BMW. After some more digging in the spares box and I had a Slot.it Flat 6 motor and gears, a set of NSR wheels and a guide that will do the trick.
I butchered the Fly chassis and cut off the sides, which I glued to the body, removed the body mountings and glued new ones in their place.
Here are some pictures of the build.

Just like all my other builds, only track time will reveal if this was worth all the effort.
Maybe Ill book the track for a day, to do some serious testing.
