Hi,
Here is my latest build. It is John Watson's Penske of 1976.
As my painting/masking skills are limited I decided to try a different technique with this car. The shell was given a base coat of white paint and then the blue, red and silver are decals. Patto will sell sheets of plain colours and the decals are very forgiving when it come to corners. Anyhow, whist not perfect (by a long way) it did work well enough for me to say the experiment was a success.
I mounted the shell on a lengthened March 761 chassis. This provided wheels that are close to the originals and nice engine details. There was plenty of modification required (shell and chassis) but the finished car has become one of my favorites!
I need to thank Simon (DNQ) for such a great shell and also Colin (Wraith/C&C Designs) who did a brilliant job of producing some particular decals to allow me to complete the project.
Anyhow, here are lots of photos (sorry).....
