My Revell Cobra, like so many, is missing the glass bits. So, having seen the price of a repro screen - which was reasonable - but then added the postage from the States, it seemed uneconomical for what is such a bashed up old body.
So I thought I'd have a go. Shape wasn't too bad, certainly good enough for this. Realising it needed a slight curve, I flexed the screen and it is now a split screen!! Did it again and tried bending it round the spout of the kettle on the woodburner. Almost right so I held it there a bit longer. Seemed OK and so glued it in place with epoxy.
Nice and firm this morning and......bugger, bugger, bugger.... a nice section in the middle that is nicely crazed from the heat.
What you get doing things last thing at night, in a hurry and with the wrong glasses on! I either have to put up with it or bite the bullet and do an entire refurb with new paint and bits!
