Slot It Nissan White Kit

Hi everyone,

I have a white shell of a Nissan R390 GT1 to build up and paint. I am amazed and somewhat concerned
by how thin these shells are considering this is to replace the damaged shell on my Clarion liveried car.
Also there are so many running in this livery at our club it is just confusing. However to the questions:

1. The kit has pins inside I assume these are to hot melt over like a rivet? Is that the best way of fixing
it together or is there a glue that is better ie superglue or epoxy?
2. Painting, having cleaned the shell is it better to give it a coat of primer or just go straight on with the
colour coat? I will be using a Tamiya spray. My reason for asking is that a coat of primer will make
the coating thicker and perhaps more prone to chipping?
