I've built up a collection of silver arrows cars over the years mainly from resin bodyshells bought on the web. Its probably obvious where they are from in this pic.
The one I have been keen to build is the Mercedes W25. I started out with a scrap airfix W125 boodyshell and have been adding P38 and milliput to make up the new shape. This is progress so far.

The problem now is that with all the filler and milliput the shell is quite heavy and from the underneath it's like Frankenstein's monster. I am thinking it would be better to take a casting rather than trying to dremel out the interior. I have cast bodyshells before but it was some years ago and looking at recent threads the silicone and resin seem to have improved significantly. I will be closely following the advice on here. Can't say I'm looking forward to the smell though.
The stuff I used before did give a slightly smaller casting than the original. Are the new silicones better in this respect?
