A repaint based up the #20 Siffert/Redman car from the 1970 Le Mans race. The car is probably best known as the Porsche 917 driven by Steve McQueen's character Mike Delaney in the 1971 movie 'Le Mans'.

The original model was purchased cheaply on the internet.

Sanded, washed and given a coat of plastic grey primer.

Body painted in Halfords Ford Bermuda Blue.

Interior has been slightly modified and the driver repositioned so he sits lower in the cockpit. I've used a resin head/helmet more in keeping with the period and painted it in the colours of Jo Siffert.

The car will be raced at our local club (Tyneside Slot Car Club) in the Classic Endurance class.
