Thinking of trying some double flanged wheels. Any negatives?

Thinking of trying some double flanged, flanges on the outside like 1:1, wheels. Has anyone used these before and will I encounter any problems using "conventional" tires normally used on std. wheels which have a void in the centre where the ridge goes.

Reason I want to squeeze/pinch the tires for a more bulbous look.
