My modelling is erratic to say the least, with cars started, abandoned and others started instead, on a regular basis. Occasionally one gets finished, but like many folk on this forum, I have a vast number of cars on the go, and an equally vast number lined up.
I thus have decided to start a continuous thread covering all builds, both new ones and those re-visited.
It would be pointless listing cars on the go, Ill just post as things happen.
This first post is confined to the five cars on the table today, they will change in a day or so. Some new ones will appear, others will kind of fizzle out. For a while.
A brief introduction below, hoping to be a bit more informative in later posts.
In the image below, the car in the foreground is a Mercedes 300SL from Le Mans 1952. The body comes from Spain, and I believe is a copy of the Slot Classic model of some years ago, This body has requires a lot of work so far. The kit is pretty basic, but does at least include wheel inserts.
The wheels were from the spares box, and machined to take the inserts, with my own wheel nuts fitted. The chassis is a modified PCS, with the rear motor mount re-aligned to permit the gears to mesh properly. The guide is Scalextric, the gears came with the PCS chassis. This body came without mounts, so the long saved resin sprues from George Turners kits have at last been put to use.

Behind the Mercedes is an MGA, or to be exact, EX182. One of the MGs entered for Le Mans in 1955, this car is based on the SCX car. The SCX models have countless errors, but the body is pretty good, and as those who have the car will know, it goes quite well too. Started years ago with a Lindberg body, this project makes slightly faster progress in its SCX form. Standard chassis, except for the wheels of course.

Next to the Mercedes is a Ferrari 121, the body coming from the same supplier as the Mercedes. Again, this has required a lot of correction, mostly pin-holes along the lower areas. The rest was pretty good. This is mounted on an MRRC Sebring chassis, for no reason other than that it was there.

The last car, behind the Ferrari is one of the new Ocar Triumph Dolomites, bought only because I can use a 1970s saloon. A standard PCS chassis is used (not for long) together with the Minilite wheels supplied. Im now researching the car raced by Leyland in the 1977 RAC TT at Silverstone that year. pictures of cars with identifiable wheels appreciated.

All the above are running. well, sort of.
Last but not least, and briefly mentioned in Sandys thread is the Thunderbird. This is based around the Gunze Sangyo kit for a 1963 Thunderbird. The kit floorpan is used a s a chassis, a Slot it sidewinder pod is used, together with a home-brew steering sub-assembly.
