Nissan Nismo GTR Le Mans - and now for something completely different.

Wow! I was astonished to see this car on the Le Mans TV coverage this weekend. 1250 bhp front engined front wheel drive - what a different concept. Its an odd looking brute compared with what we are used to but certainly dramatic.

My immediate thought was - a front wheel drive slot car with unlimited motor and gearing rules - see if you can make it work.

So, no one has produced a body yet but I'm sure it won't be long, and we have the talent within the forum membership to produce them, either resin or 3D printed.

On the assumption that there is only one forum member within about 150 miles of me that would be interested in building a car, would there be interest for a proxy series?

The prototype (scaled to 1/32nd) would be 146 mm long, 60 mm wide and with front wheels 11 mm wide and rear wheels 8 mm wide. I don't know the wheelbase but we could scale this from photo's.

I propose simple rules - 1/32nd scale, no traction magnets or high down-force motors, all use the same body (to be nominated), front wheel drive only, 19 mm dia x 11 mm wide front tyres, something narrower for the rear (to be decided), interiors and drivers to be fitted, only bodywork and interior to be visible from above, and that's about it.

Discuss please.

Cheers,

Keith
